Each summer Solid Rock packs up and heads out into our world to accomplish our purpose of empowering youth to serve, love, connect, and impact today’s world through God’s grace on a week long mission trip.

Light of the World Tour 2012 (LOTW)

During the summer of 2012 we will find ourselves heading south to Key West, FL for a trip unlike any we have experienced before. While in Key West we will be staying at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church  on Duval Street in the heart of Key West. We will be serving soup kitchens, food pantries, wildlife sanctuaries, and other missions local to the Key West community. Our goal will be to shine our light, the light of Jesus, bright into the community of Key West and bring God’s grace to all those we serve.

“You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

~Matthew 5:14-16

We hope to shine our bright light and ignite other’s lights so that they too can shine their light bright with ours and help in praising God! We hope to see that our missional work is not just one week each summer but a calling that we all are to accept every day. This calling is something we all can do no matter where we are or who we are. We are Jesus’ hands and feet, join us in this mission and let your light shine bright with ours!
